PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Wind River
– written and directed by Taylor Sheridan, creator of the hit series “Yellowstone” – arrives September 10 on 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital SteelBook® from Lionsgate, exclusively at Walmart. The story of a murdered Native American girl whose body is found on federal land, Wind River explores the tensions that arise when a rookie FBI agent (Elizabeth Olsen, “WandaVision,” “Love & Death”) is sent to lead the investigation, aided by a game tracker (Jeremy Renner, The Hurt Locker, “Mayor of Kingstown”) with a haunted past. The Wind River SteelBook® will be available on 4K UHD + Blu-ray™ + Digital for the suggested retail price of $42.99.

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
From Taylor Sheridan, creator of “Yellowstone,” comes this chilling thriller set in Wyoming’s remote wilderness. After game tracker Cory Lambert (Jeremy Renner) discovers a murdered Native American girl’s frozen body on federal land, rookie FBI agent Jane Banner (Elizabeth Olsen) is sent to lead the investigation. As the ghosts of Cory’s past return to haunt him, Jane’s attempt to treat the case as a homicide is thwarted, and the two soon realize that what unites them – bringing the girl’s killer to justice – isn’t an outcome sought by everyone in Wind River.

Jeremy Renner TV’s “Mayor of Kingstown,” Arrival, Mission Impossible franchise
Elizabeth Olsen TV’s “Love and Death” and “WandaVision,” Martha Marcy May Marlene

Too bad that it was such a limited release. The only way to secure a copy now is to pay an outrageous price on eBay.

Oh darn. I didn't read the small print about this only being available at Walmart! I gifted my blu-ray in anticipation of this release and now I won't have any opportunity of getting the 4K UHD!

What a great film! I think it’s Sheridan’s best work. IMO, the movie is more like a western noir than a crime movie. The video and audio presentations are both excellent but the Dolby Atmos soundtrack really stands out.

Now, if only we could get our hands on a copy... :(
I've caved in. They're going for roughly double the retail price. But if you don't get one of these, then you might as well stop looking.

The likelihood of a Lionsgate reissue is very slim, as this seems to be limited to a US release. Although Dirty Dancing was subsequently released (a year later) as a non-Best Buy exclusive, neither The Limey nor The Hurt Locker have yet to appear on alternative physical 4K UHD releases.

This didn't need reviews to sell out before the release date.

Unfortunately, I think you're probably right about another release being unlikely. Looks like the scalpers win this round.

Well the scalpers won't get my money, I'll have to be content with the BR. I wish this would be released in a non steel-book.
