Yeah, I need to listen to the audio commentary on the DVD. Just a fine film that I always enjoyed.
No, the current HD digital doesn't have any extras, but, when it upgrades to 4K, we might get lucky.
iTunes has changed the artwork today to what's reflected in the first post. Next week the HD should convert to 4K/Dolby Vision.
My HD Digital has just upgraded to 4K/Dolby Vision. Wow! It’s like watching this movie for the very first time.
Yeah. I still wish that LG had maintained 3D support on their 4K OLEDs, but Dolby Vision support does make up for the loss in some measure. DV is a definite improvement over non-adaptive HDR when it comes to absolute white and brightness. Small details appear to "pop" more with 4K, DV treated material.
I hope they fix that major sync problem before they make that 4K digital available to purchase again.
Sweet! Happy to hear it. I'm traveling right now but am looking forward to checking it out in 4K even though I just watched it in 1080p a couple of months ago.
You experienced a bad audio sync problem with the transfer? I was planning on watching the film early this week, but I may hold off until this issue gets resolved. Out of sync audio really bugs me -- it always ends up distracting me and I don't enjoy whatever I am watching.
Yes, it's one of the worst audio sync problems I have ever encountered on iTunes.
@Scott Merryfield The Limey is available for purchase again on iTunes and the audio sync problems has been fixed.
Wow. I guess iTunes can fix things in a timely manner when then set their mind to it. Two days has got to be a record!
So yes, it is up on iTunes at 4K for $7 - a great movie, I've watched it many times.
So while I occasionally notice extras on iTunes I have never witnessed a commentary track. They exist? Examples?
Also, I see it is streaming on Amazon Prime - I wonder if they would do a 4K upgrade there too
Yes, they do exist. Usually if an iTunes title has the iTunes extras, they will also have an audio commentary if there was one on the disc. Again, the film title on iTunes has to indicate iTunes extras and if there was an audio commentary on the Blu-ray or 4K disc then more times than not, the commentary will be part of the iTunes extras.
Out of curiosity the following 10 random titles that are in my iTunes digital library with the letter "A", until I got bored, and skipped around a little with other alphabet letters have audio commentaries on iTunes.
The Age of Adaline
The HItman's Bodyguard
Thanks, Robert. I watched the film last night (didn't care about the two teams on Monday Night Football). The audio sync seemed to go in and out through the film for me, though -- it was very odd.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the movie as a first time viewer. Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to make the blind purchase.
Did they didn't repair audio sync issues earlier in the film? I just restarted the film from which I couldn't stand it any longer and it was repaired from that point until the end of the film.
The issue did seem worse in the beginning of the film.
For me, I just checked the worse sequences again which were in that bar, the movie set and car garage. I didn't see any obvious audio sync issues in those scenes this time. It was really bad a few days ago.
I bought it yesterday...after discovering this place.... in the hope that it would be upgraded automatically to 4k...and....ta da....it was....
That's odd. The audio wasn't horribly out of sync, but it was noticeable and it happened randomly. I watched with my Apple TV 4K (I assume you did the same). Everything else I watch in 4K + Dolby Vision on the Apple app and Disney+ app is in sync using that device.
I previewed part of The Limey in 4K last night and MAN, it looks FANTASTIC! This is far, far better than the HD stream available previously. I felt as if I was really seeing the film for the first time. Marvelous.
