The gripping tale of the Knights Templar continues when HISTORY®’s “Knightfall” Season 2 arrives on DVD August 6 from Lionsgate. From showrunner and executive producer Aaron Helbing (TV’s “The Flash,” TV’s “Spartacus”), the hit series stars the legendary Mark Hamill, Tom Cullen, Ed Stoppard, Pádraic Delaney, Jim Carter, Simon Merrells, Genevieve Gaunt, Tom Forbes, and Clementine Nicholson in this action-filled drama that goes inside the medieval politics and warfare of the Knights Templar, the most powerful, wealthy, and mysterious military order of the Middle Ages. With the historical and ruthless downfall of the Templar Order on the horizon, season two focuses on themes such as power, redemption, revenge, betrayal, family, and ultimately an epic war between church and state. Complete with “vengeful royals, grittier action, and a real Jedi Knight” (Kate Hahn, TV Guide), the “Knightfall” Season 2 DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $24.98.

The march to war begins between King Philip of France and his sworn enemies, the Knights Templar. As the Templars prepare for the storm to come, Talus (Hamill), a battle-hardened veteran of the Crusades, trains the next generation of men he calls “God’s Executioners.” There will be a reckoning between long-standing rivals – Landry (Cullen) and fallen-knight Gawain Delaney), De Nogaret (Ovenden) and the Catholic church – while Princess Isabella (Gaunt) takes her first steps to becoming the “She-Wolf of France.” As King Philip
(Stoppard) works to destroy the reputation of the Templars to the public at large, Prince Louis (Forbes), his sadistic young son, unleashes the dogs of war on the legendary Knights, reaching a brutal, final climax on Friday the 13th, 1307.
