Just got a early copy of "The Lion King 1 1/2" and I am having audio drop outs. The drop outs happen on ALL the audio tracks which are 5.1 DD-5.1 DTS & 5.1 French. The player involved is a RCA DRC310 & is connected via optical cables to a Yamaha HTR-5650.

There are atleast 10 drop outs in the 1st 28:23 of the DVD.

The drop outs are as follows:

0:01:50/0:04:19/0:09:09/0:10:24/0:10:56/0:17:31/0:20:19/0:20:49/0:20:54/0:28:53

At the last time I just stopped play as some of the lock ups were causing my reciever to reset to Prologic II and not the DD/DTS settings.

The drop outs are the same audio problems experienced on the Alien & Alien Resurrection DD/DTS tracks from the Quadrilogy set.

So it's safe to assume that Disney will be getting a call(On Tuesday 02/10/04) from me to report this problem and see if its going to be fixed.

I have also exchaged the disc from the retailer that I got it from and the problem still occurs.

I'm experiencing similar drop outs with the DTS-ES track of LOTR2: TTT Extended Edition, as well as other audio tracks on a couple of other DVDs. Is this due to the DVD, DVD player, or my receiver? It doesn't happen on the DD EX track of LOTR2: TTT Ext. Ed. however.

Have not noticed any problems with my copy of The Lion KIng 1 1/2 on my Toshiba/Sony setup. Everything played and sounded fine.

I'm pretty sure the drop-outs on Lion King 1 1/2 are due to the hidden Mickey pop-up track. It only affects certain players. (One of mine is affected, but the other one isn't, nor my girlfriends.)
