What's the best way to be able to view Quicktime movies in Linux? I noticed that Apple doesn't make a Quicktime player for Linux, but I've found other developments out there. So far I've seen XMovie, Quicktime 4 Linux, OpenQuicktime. Are there other's I haven't found? Which is the prefered one to install? I'm using Mandrake 8.1.

Also, is the only way to view DVD movies ripping it from the DVD and opening the IFO file? Are there players that can open it straight from the DVD-ROM drive?

I don't think there is a DVD playr for linux becuase of the open source concept. Basically, the peeps who license te decoding software do not want their intellectual property in teh open source domain (understandable I guess). However, I did hear a (so far unsubstantiated) rumour recently of an arrangement where the decoding portion could remain protected, so watch this space!
