Parker, I just noticed the link at the bottom of the forum pages to check out the local weather forecast. Nice touch. I never look down there because if I want to check the time, I look at my computer's clock, but I happened to glance down there just now and noticed that weather link.
Being a meteorology major, I always appreciate finding new ways to get the weather forecast more quickly. Never thought I'd be able to put the HTF on that list. Very nice touch. [IMG]
How long has it been hiding down there, anyway?

Thanks for the kudos. I am a time and weather nut myself. I just added it. In addition I added it to the top of the page to show your local tempurature if you set it up on the weather page by clicking on the Local Weather link.
BTW, the time for our server is set by the atomic clock in Denver so it's pretty accurate. [IMG]

Very cool, I just noticed it myself.

I set my local weather but it isn't appearing at the top of any pages. Still, a cool, easy weather link when I'm surfing, plus it loads much faster than visiting Accuweather or Weather.com.

Edit - Actually, I do see it on the main forum page. It would be cool to have that at the top of every forum page and thread.

Cool, now I know for sure that it's cold as **** around here: 10 degrees F according to our newest feature! [IMG]

Why do we even need this feature, most of us don't even step out the front door unless we have to get food or go to Best Buy. [IMG] [IMG]

Me too. I like the new weather link. Do you use the Nistime 32 program for the time? I have it in my startup folder so it loads on bootup.
My dad got me started on the time thing many years ago. He'd tune in WWV on a shortwave radio and keep his watch set to the second. If the watch varied, he'd open it up and make tiny adjustments. [IMG]

I use Atomic Sync Time on my PC. I am not sure what Travis has set up for the server though. I got the program thru World Time Server.
I have a watch from SyncTime that sets itself to the atomic clock in Denver. It resets itself to the second daily around midnight. It also resets itself if I go to the East or West Coast to the appropriate time in that region.

I think this is very cool also. And I was pleasantly surprised to see the Copenhagen, Denmark is actually included in the list (often it's only available for USA).
I think Ron and Parker is trying to make all other internet sites obsolete by adding all possible cool features to the HTF, and I'm not complaining! [IMG]

I have Weather Bug from my local TV affiliate here in KC. It is a nice program but often times (for me) the server is down.
So just think of this function on HTF as a back up to what you already use. [IMG]

This weather feature is great! Its always nice to know if I have to plug in the car and now I don't even have to leave HTF to find out.

    COOL !

Jeff, it seems to automatically be set for Central Park. Mine was (I'm in Albany), and from Bruce Hedtke's post above, it seems his was, too (he's in Wisconsin). It's simple to change, though. Just click the weather link, then Modify Settings, and set it for any location that you want.

Thanks, Scott. I noticed that almost immediately after my post. :b

I too get NYC weather instead of my own city.

    Deane

EDIT: Just noticed you need to go in and set it for your city. I'm a little slower than others but I eventually catch on.

Yeah, just click on the Local Weather link and then at the bottom of the Five Day Forecast click on the Modify Settings link and it will allow you to set it for your locale.

But I already know the forecast for any place I go: 100% chance of Rain. [IMG]
