We tried a trial with Acorn streaming to watch Murder is My Life, which is pretty mediocre. However, we ran across Line of Duty which is outstanding. It is very British but fortunately they didn’t bollox up the job.

The premise is a police unit investigating corrupt cops. I get the feeling that I’m watching a real police department. There’s gaming the system with statistics and portrayal of some of the mundane aspects of policing. The plot is complex and often unexpected. It looks like each season will cover one case.

    Script and acting outstanding.

As RAH would say, highly recommended. I guess will be subscribing for a while. There’s at least 5 seasons, and seasons are 5-7 episodes.

Line of Duty is an outstanding series, well written and believable characters. I find the majority of British police shows are well made and worth your time viewing.

Best show on British tv and bear in mind that even thought they are all about different cases they are all linked by recurring characters and a larger overarching plot so you have to pay attention as well :)

Second that; I've already watched all five seasons (series in UK-speak) and it is indeed quite brilliant. Jaw-dropping, at times: let's just say that they do not feel the need to follow US TV tropes. (Then again, these days to be fair tropes are often disregarded.)
