Bauvorschlag is a german DIY speaker builder who uses this Rhombicuboctahedron geometry to build his own sub which utilize many smaller drivers as opposed to a single larger driver here in the US. I was fascinated with this unique enclosure and was able to find a gentleman who is an expert in woodworking to build one for me.
The dimension of the enclosure are as follows:
1.5" thickness for min. box noise/vibration
14" x 14" baffles
5.17" x 14" rectangular sides
5.17" equalateral triangles
These dimensions will yield a 3.130 cubic ft internal volume and I'm planning to use the Dayton 12" Titanic MKII.
Do you guys think the Titanic is good enough for this enclosure?
Thanks,
Derrick
Here is some pictures of the construction in progress ....
