light gun games on 16:9 HDTV (1 Viewer)

last night a friend of mine and I tried playing House of the Dead for the Dreamcast on my RCA F38310. The guns worked perfectly on my wega, but on the rca it wouldn't even let us calibrate the guns, and we could never get it to aim right, not even close.

the screen was definitely bright enough...is there some sort of incompatibility with an HDTV line doubling the game and not letting light guns work?

Sean,

I had to get the Dreamcast VGA adapter and an Audio Authority transcoder before I got light guns to work on my Toshiba TW65X81. Even then, then gun that came with House of the Dead II didn't work reliably. I have two guns now that work great though! (Pelican I think) As an added bonus, when I got the Smash Pack, I was able to play Virtua CopII as well!
