Life span on Sony HD tube sets.

    Hello,

    How long should I expect Sony models KV-36HS510 or KV-34XBR910 to last? Average use 2-3hrs a day.

    Depends how you use it. IF you leave it in torch mode and play video games all day and watch TV with bright logos you'll burn it up right fast. See the master burn-in thread at the top of this forum.

    If you calibrate, and are careful with TV and such, the tubes should last for a very long time. The electronics....i don't know.

    Damn, with only 2 to 3 hours a day use even in torch mode these sets should work until hell starts getting some snow...

    I don't see any reason why the picture tube shouldn't last as long as that of an analog set.

    I have an 18 year old Sony 25" XBR Trinitron in my bedroom that's still going strong.
