I have a 6.5 year old analog RPTV. Is this old for this type of set as far as the crt's and other parts go?

    Thanks in advance

My brother was looking at one on ebay that is 18 years old. But the guy was being silly on the minimum bid, so he bought a new one from Sam's Club for $999. RPTVs can last a heck of a long time. Newer ones are so cheap and so good, though, that if an older one broke for pretty much any reason, I'd just get a new one.

i know people that have had a 55" for 10 years, and still works, but they have had to have it fixed twice, costing $500 each time.
