One immediately visible black vertical line (top to bottom of the screen) has appeared on the screen of our 2017 LG OLED55C7P. No idea if this is a common or rare problem with OLED screens, is it fixable, will it keep getting worse?

Immediately visible when the background is light. Noticed it watching WWDC last week, turning the screen on/off makes no difference. Maybe one or two pixels wide…

Do a Google search for "thin black vertical line OLED".

Seems like some others have reported this issue. The whole panel had to be replaced. I hope yours is still under warranty.

Suspect the warranty is only 1 year - not 3. Thanks for the info!

So the vertical line is growing — went from being something like you often saw on 35mm prints in theaters, to a multicolored, time to get a new TV stripe.
Suggestions? Really don’t want to buy a new TV every 3 years... The HDR/OLED looks good, don’t want to lose the properly functional ARC 5.1 via Toslink properly in sync audio out. But looking for something more reliable. LG has not achieved a good reputation — Our LG dishwasher died (we replaced with a Bosc), now the TV...
