LG Home Theatre System not working with Samsung Smart TV (1 Viewer)

Hi, I got an LG Home Theatre system (HS33S) and a Samsung Smart TV. I can't get any sound out of the TV with the HT. I connected it with an optical cable. I can see the red light in the optical cable coming from the TV, but it doesn't work when I connect it to the HT and turn the HT mode on the TV.

What might be the problem? Is the Samsung TV compatible with the LG Home theatre system?

Yep, I turn the Optic Auxiliary on the LG hometheatre.

I just tried to connect the tv with the HT with an mini-jack auxiliary but it doesn't work. Then I tried to plug the HT auxiliary in my Ipod and see if there is anything that comes out, but nothing... I bought that HT brand new and didn't use it a lot, so I don't understand why it wouldn't work.
