I've read a (fairly) consistant recommendation for bass management that when 1) using the pre-out from the receiver, and 2) using the crossover in the receiver with all speakers set to "small," one should set the crossover on the sub "wide open" as to not conflict with the crossover on the receiver. This also assumes that the full LFE content is passed to the sub without a crossover applied.

Question: just how much LFE content actually exists above 80hz? above 100hz? on today's DVDs?

I'd like to try setting the crossover on my sub (PDR-10) to 90hz, with the receiver set at 80hz, due to some pink-noise charts that indicate a flatter frequency response from 40-90hz when feeding the sub a pink noise signal with these settings. But I'd also like to avoid losing any content on the LFE channel input, if this really exists.
