In a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal, Lexus makes the case that the LS430 is the finest luxury car in the world. It supposedly outperforms BMW and Mercedes and is even more refined than Rolls Royce. Notwithstanding those claims, the thing that stood out for me was the assertion that the noise level at idle is only 31 dB! Can this be true? I didn't think anything was that quiet. (They say a library is about 40 dB.) I think most cars are in the 65-70 dB range. If the Lexus is truly that tomb-like, the Mark Levinson sound system must really sound sweet!

that Mark Lewinson sound system is quite a pricey upgrade on Lexus automobiles. I was looking at and ES 300 and the ML audio upgrade is upwards of $2500 I think.

$2500 could buy you quite a bit from a local car audio retailer methinks.

Of course, most people would go "Mark Levinson, who???" [IMG]
I'd rather spend $2500 on home audio, personally, I find cars not the best place to spend sound wise, no matter how expensive the audio components are. Plus the fact that I would be too occupied in driving.
