Whoopie started out good, but I think she majorly lost people when she started talking about the possible war. I bet people in the control room where screaming, 'did she clear this with you?' [IMG].

Personally, I'd love to see Dan Aykroyd take a shot at hosting the show, using some of his infamous SNL characters to help bring in an audience. For instance, Tom Snyder talking to 'Tom Snyder' at Daves desk would be a hoot to see.

Of course, the major ratings grabber would be Leno hosting, but that would NEVER happen. Dave would be back to that job on his death bed if that where the case, heh.

Anyone have any others they'd like to recomend? I've heard that Dave could be out for as much as two months, so they'd have plenty of opportunity to get some new guest hosts...

I think Jack Paar is in the hospital also, but what about having Johnny Carson host?

Kermit The Frog - sure, it's been a while since he guest-hosted The Tonight Show, but I think folks would go for it.

Andy Richter might be another good choice.

Jerry Seinfeld. I haven't seen him do much other than a few standups.

Snoop Dogg. He was hilarious on Jimmy Kimmel.

2 months for Letterman? What happened? I saw he had an eye infection, but don't know that much.

Chevy Chase, Magic Johnson, Arsenio Hall and Joan Rivers should all guest host... actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Rivers do it. [IMG]

I think Regis Philbin would be an interesting guest host. Or has he already done it?

Letterman has shingles. He can't host the show right now.

Conan O'Brien would be cool. I'd also like to see Norm MacDonald try his hand at guest hosting dressed up as Letterman.

    Regis guest-hosted last week.

    Future guest host suggestions:

Jeff Probst (have a survivor theme to the show)
    Chris Rock
Dennis Miller (just bleep him out when needed)
    Dennis Leary
    Dennis Franz
    Dennis Farina
    Martin Lawrence
    Bernie Mac
Martin Short (as his fat talk show character)
    Adam Sandler

Just watched the show with Vince Vaughn hosting - who did a fantastic job. I'd get Rosie Perez on that chair also, man has that girl got some interesting stories to share.

I want Crispin Glover to host with Jean-Claude Van Damme as a guest. Let's see what happens when the platform shoe is on the other kicking foot. [IMG]
