I've always debated with myself about seating options for our screening room. I just can't get away from the "real" theatre seating look. I know they are not as comfortable as the leather seat versions but I just want my HT to resemble an older style from yesteryear. I guess different strokes for different folks!! One real plus using theatre seats is they are a fraction of the cost of the leather.

Here's what I decided on using.

I went to the Ultimate Home Theater showroom in Bridgewater NJ to try out their Home Theater chairs. Roman has been very helpful answering questions via email and phone. I feel very confident purchasing from him.

I wanted three chairs, but since I am dealing with a room that is just shy of 12 feet, I can only fit two with enough room on the sides for a walkway.

    FC-Streamline-1017.jpg FC-Escape-1019.jpg

The Streamline 1017 on the top has motorized lumbar support and lit cupholders.

The Escape 1019 on the bottom has bucket seats and motorized adjustable headrest.

Thought the 1019 was a bit more comfortable and very impressed with the motorized adjustable headrest, but the lit cupholders and motorized lumbar support on the 1017 is a really nice feature.

Wow...those are beautiful seats. I'd have to float a mortgage on the home to afford those!!

Just make sure you can dim those lights during playback!

Well I finally decided to give up several original theatre seats for the more comfortable, luxury style.

I decided on the black leather, power seats with USB ports in the power switches. The cup holders are also lit so you won't spell your wine!!! lol

Sam we purchased the seats from 4Seating.com in La Habra, Ca. The brand is Grenada 7000 1301.

Yes, there is a small push button to turn off the cup holder lights. These seats also come with the USB ports built in to the recliner switch and each seat also has a removable tablet should you want to use your laptop or IPad during the screening. One of the really nice things about this seat is that it can fully recline with only a 4 inch clearance behind the seat.

    Hope this helps.

No problems with the transaction. Shipping out here in SoCal was free. Our three seats was $2,100 delivered. There's a large showroom out here so that made the shopping very easy. We got to sit in every seat that we had an interest in.

    Good luck!!

Oh man me too, that's what really drove me to them. I love the look of the Seatcraft Madera which I think 'invented' this look for theater seating but HTSeating is a lot less expensive and they are regular posters over at AVS, they are a small but growing company that stands behind their product, not a huge faceless company.

Anyone have Palliser seats? I found a theater seating chain locally, and they carry Pallisar. For my room size, I liked the narrow Stereo line. I also liked the wider Media line, which would be a tight fit but I thought maybe more comfortable.

(I'm not willing to buy online, sight unseen, so I'm limited to what I can demo.)

Not me but they are the 'mass market' chair out there. You can see em at any BigScreenStore or the like. I think Roman or HTSeating are better values but they do require a leap of faith a bit since it's more difficult to get a test sitting.

Ok. That gives me some reference. I'd rather buy a mediocre brand I know is ok, so I'll keep a look out for opportunities to 'test drive' other brands.
