Lenthen Speakers Wires to Reach New Amp Location (1 Viewer)

Haven't seen this come up yet. I need to add about 6 feet of length to my speaker wire runs. Repulling whole new cable runs would not work since they were stapled in and are run througout the walls and molding.

They are 8 or 10 gauge wires. Trying to avoid soldering. Can I use the solderless wire nuts? Or just twist together and tape?

And yes, I already went to Home Depot to find s left-handed cable stretcher.(ha ha) I was told they were sold out.

8-gauge speaker wire? Holy smoke.

With that size about all you can do is use wire nuts, probably the huge gray or light blue ones. Here’s a link to an old post of mind that will give directions on how to properly use them.

By the way, the wires are 14 and 16 gauge. I overstated in my original post. Have the endemic male problem gauging size some times.
