According to DarkHorizons. Legend (DVD): The fantasy epic seems to finally have scored a tentative disc release date of May 21st.

Luke, that's very funny! And from a new guy too!
As everyone knows, I would wrestle a starving mountain lion to get the DVD. May 21st is what we got right now, tentatively. Once Universal makes their official announcement, then it's "officially tentative". :D
I wont believe this DVD exists until after I've watched it twice and caressed it with a moist towelette.

Just received my R2 review copy. The menus are static, there are no extras apart from a trailer and it's 2.35:1 anamorphic.

I'm glad they are releasing a theatrical and a director's cut on the same disc. One of biggest pet peeves is when they release them on their own. Look at American Pie Unrated, I'll never be able to see Jim screwing the pie standing up. The unrated has him ON the counter. Funny, but not the same.

Is it that we have 3 cuts of this film?

The UE Region 1 which contains:

A Director's Cut

The US theatrical release

and the Region 2 release which contains:

The European theatrical release

Anyone know?

Yes thats true, three seperate cuts of Ridley Scott's Legend. And I have all three.
Best and longest version is the region 1 director's cut. :)

The European theatrical release is essentially a shortened version of the "Director's Cut", correct? That is, unlike the U.S. theatrical release, there's no footage in the Euro-theatrical that's exclusive to that version?

Vincent:

The Euro-cut has a slightly different ending...plus the 16:9 Fox transfer is superior to the American 16:9 Director's Cut (colors are warmer and the overall source material in better shape).
