Does anybody have any info for this title in Region 1?

Hoping for a Criterion release.

No news on the grapevine at present. I too really want to see a high-quality DVD release of this great film.

New Yorker was rumored to be working on a DVD release, but a recent posting at the Criterion Collection Forum indicates they no longer hold the rights.

Since Criterion holds the US rights to many of Melville's other films, I'm hoping they snatched up Le Samouraï, too. If so, it probably won't see the light of day for 6-12 months.

I join Sergio and other contributors to this thread in waiting hopefully for a R1 release of 'Le Samourai'; in addition, I would also love to see a R1 release of 'Les Doulos'.
