LD Video output problem on my Pioneer DVL-919-anyone else had this? (1 Viewer)

Just recently, my Pioneer 919 stopped putting out usable video with LD only. DVD playback is normal. The LD picture rolls horizonataly. Sound is normal. The player-generated on-screen titles ("PLAY" "STOP", etc) also are distorted until I switch to DVD mode. I've tried this on a number of discs and get the same result. Has anyone else heard of this problem? Thanks,

It sounds like the laser for the LD is out of alignment (the DVD is a separate laser). You'll probably need to take it in for repair.

That would seem to make sense as the problem is on LD only and using either S-video or composite outputs.
