The new Barnes & Noble 50% Off Sale started today and will run through November 28, both online and in stores. As usually happens, Amazon has now dropped all its Criterion titles by 50% as well. I'll be doing my buying at B & N, since I continue to value the experience of shopping in brick and mortar stores and urge all you Forum folk to do likewise.

November pre-orders are 50% off on BN.com but not on Amazon.

I was hoping to scoop up the BR-only Demy box this sale, but alas they don't even list it.

There is something odd about that release. Nobody seems to have it in stock and most sites including Criterion.com don;t even seem to list it.

I'm not sure if there was a replication issue and it was pulled for some reason, but it's like it disappeared. I'm assuming there were actual copies at some point, but I
literally can't find evidence it even existed or if it was recalled or delayed. Nothing on Criterion Forum or Bluray.com to explain the issue

Are you referring to this?

I'm thinking it may be a replication issue as Criterion is saying it's currently unavailable. It is available on Amazon, but not at 50% off.

There were/are actual copies because I purchased it a few years ago.

Yes that, but they recently repackaged it with only the Blu-Rays. I have the BR/DVD set, but it's so massive on the shelf I'd love to replace it with a slimmer box.

No, that was the original BD+DVD 13 disc item with release date 7/22/2014, UPC 715515119016 and appears to be OOP.
I;ve had that set since pretty much Day 1 and it's beyond great. It may be one of my favorite Criterion BD sets ever

The new release -- 6 BD release date officially 9/6/2022 and UPC 715515276214. As best as I can tell, there were some preorders allowed, but I can't 100% tell if anyone ever got a copy. I can't find a post that confirms it, an unboxing, or an Ebay listing. Criterion.com doesn't even list that set as Backordered or OOS, none of the ALLIANCE stores or supplied stores seem to have a listing

Thanks for the clarification. And, yes, it's a great set!
