Last Man Standing Seasons 1-4 DVD (1 Viewer)

Bought Last Man Standing Seasons 1-4. All the Discs are 4.35GB. 8 episodes on 1 disc should be on a dual layer DVD. Can someone put their known retail purchased copy in a DVD drive and confirm theirs is a dual layer please? TIA

There are no "retail" copies of any seasons. The show has only been released through online retailers in the burned MOD format, so there never was a traditionally pressed release.

I'm not sure if Fox or Amazon or whoever used dual layer discs to burn the copies or not. I'm fairly certain there are a lot of bootlegs of all the MOD shows out there though, and if you didn't pay over $20 per set from a trusted, well known retailer, that's likely what you got.

These are actual DVD's and not recordables. I personally bought season 1 on DVD when it first came out at Walmart. That copy is long gone but I definitely remember buying and watching it. I buy nothing MOD.

Seasons 1-4 (and 5-6, too, but those aren't part of the question) were originally released MOD.

Now, I can't say for certain there wasn't a pressed release of S1. It has always been cheaper than the rest, so if you say you bought a copy from Wal-Mart at one point, I'm not going to doubt you because I vaguely remember there being a pressed S1 at one point. But the rest were released MOD only, so what you have now likely aren't legit releases. And if this S1 is single layer, it's probably a bootleg, too.

Much appriciate the effort. Once I saw the file size was single layer for 3 hours of play time I knew they weren't legit. They look terrible too. No encoding around the hubs and video quality is poor.

I have no idea whether Fox's dvd-mod titles are done as burned dvd-r discs, or if they're a limited run of factory pressed dvd discs.
