This a nearly pristine example of this somewhat unique player. The only cosmetic defect I can find is a small crack in a plastic piece at the right front edge.
Specifically, this is a multivoltage capable (110/220) Pioneer badged gold/champagne colored import version of the CLD-99 Pioneer Elite. The Elite badged 99 was only sold in North America and this version was sold in other areas that wanted an NTSC version on the 99.
I bought this recently from Kurtis Bahr who is routinely considered one of the best High end Laserdisc Player people in the US. He has tweaked this unit, replaced the capstain motor, and given it a thorough servicing [edit -- I initially had believed he replaced the laser pickup, but KB informed me that wasn't the case though it was aligned, etc]. So far, I've played the Def. Collection, several AC-3 discs, older analog only discs, CAV and CLV versions of Star Wars without a hiccup.
I have a CLD-79 and bought this mainly because I got it at a great price, but I don't need 2 players and have to let one of them go. If you'd rather have the CLD-79, I can discuss that as an alternative and keep this unit, but my wife might notice the change from black to gold easier.
52dB S/N Video, coax and optical digital outs, AC-3 out, beautiful remote (same color as the machine), 2 sets of S-video, composite video, and analog audio outs. The famous 3D Adaptive Digital Y/C filter, Variable Noise Reduction,
dual side play of course.
I don't have the original box or manual, but I was sent a copy of the Elite CLD-99 manual which is basically the same
functional machine and a great thick shipping box with a superb padding arrangement which should make shipping very safe.
MRSP was the same as the Elite 99 at $2400.
Asking $1000 shipped (UPS Ground Insured to most of the cont. US). Please, no trades.
I can provide digital pics of any part of the machine, but you can literally take a look at this exact machine immortalized at -- page all the way to the bottom of the page and this is the same unit.
