A record player that manages to read and play standard vinyl using no needle, no coasting device, simply a three beam laser for accuracy to make sure there is no wear on the recording.

Hmm. Will audiophiles swoon or bolt?

These have been available for quite awhile, but at 15 grand they're starting to get much more affordable. The first model was more like $50,000.
Now it's cheaper than a few "standard" turntables.

BTW...this is in the wrong forum.

It's been available for almost 20 years and hasn't gained much traction, so I doubt it will now, especially if the price hasn't come down from $15k.

At $1500, I bet they'd sell a lot of these, but the manufacturing costs may make that impossible.

I was in the market for this but I didn't get one. The problem is that the laser reads ALL. So one must clean every vinyl before playing and vinyls that looks and sound great in a reagulary player can have a pop and click party.
