    Episode 1.4

I guess they should have called this episode "The Sting", but it would be generous to really take any of the subterfuge all that seriously.

So Elliott Gould gets to reprise his role from "Ocean's 11" somewhat with his turn as "The Professor". Danny and Ed's good cop/bad cop routine really does need work.

Good to see Ken Marino get some work (too bad he won't be making any more appearances on the show), as well as Danny Hanson's wife from Boston Public as well. Also, it was funny to see the Mayor from Buffy with a quasi German accent, but he was the funniest part of the episode.

Overall, a so-so episode, not all that great. Sam pretty much turned into matchmaker.

I really wanted this show to be good, but I think it's going to get pulled midseason, if it gets that far. I was hoping for dark, dirty atmosphere, but it's turned into a landlocked version of the Love Boat with better hairdo's.

Sometimes James Caan looks embarrassed to be there.

They need to make the show a lot darker. Get rid of Nikki Cox's and Molly Simms characters and hire some better writers. Great Vegas cinematography though. Way better than CSI.

I thought it was just a so-so episode also, I don't expect it to be deep but the fluff just wasn't doing it last night. Do you think they are trying to spread the plotlines out too thin? They seem to try and have everyone involved and it makes it kind of weak, just really focus on a couple characters and go from there.

Maybe they should have a couple episode focused on the Whales, and what they do to accomidate them. Maybe show the Sportsbooks(more wishfull thinking) and how the lines are made and the little nuances of sports gambling(talk about sucker bets and sandwhich games etc). Maybe show the ups and downs at the craps table, you know there are some wild stories and Craps tables, Blackjack tables and the like.

The show had a first episode with lot of great potential.. I had really looked at this almost like a good weekly who-done-it, and had jokingly hoped for a Kojak kind of feel.. but the show can't seem to find it's bearings, and the writing has offerred some horrible scenes the last two weeks.

I'm taking it off my TiVO, but I may still catch it from now & again, we'll see.

I watched and it was decent. I do agree that this show could go darker. I don't agree with loosing the eye candy though. [IMG]
