I have a direct-view RCA f38310. I had to adjust some stuff on back of the set, and pivoted the TV carefully on the stand.
Approx 1/6th of the TV (the right front corner) was off the stand, and after I slid the set back, I noticed there was a darkened corner with a slight green hue in that corner!

I can understand if I had dropped the thing, or kicked it, but having just slid it around a bit? UGH!

Anyway, does anyone think this is permanent? I have researched the service mode, and there is no Degauss function, and the local RCA repair shop is a couple of old cowboys who are pretty incompetant. I haven't contacted them as it's the weekend, but I will tomorrow.

This is my 10-year TV, and I can't replace the thing.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.
    TIA
    Greg

    Haha. I'm retarded.
After fretting for an hour I tried the old "Turn Off, Turn On" trick and it went away.
    D'oh!

Sounds like something magnetic affected the set, and most tvs or monitors degauss on turn-on. Usually time, and or turning it off and on over a day or two will make it go away, or last resort is manually degaussing it.

Glad it went away right quick for ya! [IMG]
