I need some h6elp resetting5 my keyboard. I believe my cat someh6ow ch6ang5ed a setting5 and as you can see from wh6at I am typing5 some letters now also produce a number, for example h6 or g5 and if I h6it th6e backspace key I g5et th6is instead of th6e cursor g5oing5 back,\

so for Backspace I know g5et th6e back slash6.

H^ow do I reset my keyboard?

Try pressing the power button down until the laptop shuts off. Wait a few minutes and press the power button to restart. It might reset itself.

Sounds like your "Shift" key or similar may be stuck in the depressed condition. The best thing for this is usually compressed air. If the root cause is a sticky substance you can also [carefully] slide a butter knife or letter opener wrapped in a moistened paper towel through the individual rows.

Num Lock in conjunction with the Fn Key can also cause this:


Hope one of these videos helps! Neither my current wireless keyboard nor the one on my Laptop has an Fn key, so I can't test it for myself!
