The new Paramount release is scheduled for 2/8/2022 per Amazon listing.
It could happen as that box was released two years ago.How can they lose the rights when they just released it along with other Fellini films in their Essential Fellini box set last year.

True, but that doesn't mean rights can't be lost in one year. The box set was released last November in 2020, not 2019.

Obviously Paramount has a limit on its licensing deals. In addition to La Dolce Vita, other out of print Criterion Paramount titles include Days Of Heaven, Rosemary's Baby, The Last Command, Nashville and Underworld. How can they lose the rights when they just released it along with other Fellini films in their Essential Fellini box set last year.
Yes.... you just need to click on the pre order link.......you'll see this informationAny word on the transfer for this?
Criterion doesn't necessarily have exclusive rights. A lot of their titles have also been released simultaneously in studio versions:Obviously Paramount has a limit on its licensing deals. The cover art replicates the theater posters distributed during the film's initial US release.I think it will be the same transfer as in the Fellini box set. See no info on any extras yet and not a big fan of the art cover.
The blu-ray in the Criterion Fellini box is the same as their previous stand-alone release in 2014.So, no one has any actual information that this release will be any different than the Criterion Blu-ray? Because, unless I'm mis-remembering, the Blu-ray in the Fellini box is the same as their earlier Blu-ray release years earlier?
