Didn't anyone who worked there notice that this guy hadn't moved from his chair for TWO DAYS?!

I can imagine the conversation with St. Peter:

"You died playing that game and you only made it to what level?! Go to hell!"

Are we sure his consciousness wasn't just drawn into the game itself? I mean.. he could be riding a light-cycle right now!

And yes.. that's twice I've used the term light-cycle this week. >kickass

    You guys are twisted...and funny!

I own 3 LAN Gaming centres (it is one of my many careers). Our record holder was about 26 hours. I think if we saw someone going for 50 hours...well I guess I would have to give him some bonus free time or something. Unless he was already dead in his chair. Hmmm...should I charge someone for time if they are dead?

Seriously though...that is amazing. How could he keep his eyes open? Mine hurt like hell after playing for 3-4 hours.

Dying while playing a video game is a senseless and un-necessary death. Whether he loved playing it is irrelevant and doesn't make his death any less tragic. Drug addicts love their drugs. Are they not dying a tragic death when they overdose?

The only other case I can recall right now of a video game causing someones death is when someone died of a heart attack playing the original coin-op arcade game "Bezerk"...if anybody remembers the rather stressful intensity of that game, with the ominous bouncing head, you may be able to imagine how it could stress you out...but a heart attack? Thats pretty serious. I can't recall if he was known to have a heart condition or whether there was an autopsy to see if he had a heart condition he wasn't aware of.

I have to admit I have suffered some pretty bad health from using the internet for hours on end researching PC and AV stuff. I burnt my self out. I no longer use the net or a PC for very long periods anymore. I don't even like games.

But that's suicide as well. Suicide is dumb and (IMHO) not considered 'tragic'.

..............do you think any of the more (possibly) semi-sentient animals, like whales or dolphins, look at us and think "what the hell is wrong with those monkeys"?
