I recently got a copy of the Korean film Oasis, due out 11/23 from Facets/Life Size Entertainment.

The back of the box indicates the film includes English subtitles, but they aren't a menu option, nor are they burned in, nor can you switch them on during the film (at least with my Samsung player).

A warning to those planning a purchase, unless I'm an idiot and someone can correct me.

Joel,

I finally got this in for my store and took it home to check it before putting it out on the shelf.

On my copy, the subtitles come up automatically, and there doesn't seem to be a way to switch them off.

Maybe yours is defective?

Yes, I meant to reply, this was an issue with only the first 500 copies pressed. Supposedly no defective copies went to retail, and the bug only affected 1 in 10 players anyway.

Picture quality is OK for such a release. A bit washed out. Look for a full review soon at digitallyobsessed.com.
