It’s the biggest event of the year—the Super Bowl! But the star players for the Cougars, gathered in New Orleans for the big game, are preoccupied with some serious off-the-field issues. Dave Walecki’s (Ken Howard, 1776) marriage to his wife Nancy (Susan Howard, TV’s Dallas) is falling apart, while Jim McCauley (Tom Selleck, An Innocent Man) is involved in a shady deal with a management firm that could destroy his career. But that’s nothing compared to the real drama. There’s an assassin killing off many of the team’s personnel (as well as their chances of winning)! David Janssen (S.O.S. Titanic) stars as the team manager, who races against time to identify the killer before it’s too late. This made-for-television thriller was directed by veteran filmmaker Jerry Jameson (Airport ’77, Raise the Titanic) and co-stars Edie Adams (The Oscar), Donna Mills (Play Misty for Me), Van Johnson (23 Paces to Baker Street), Vonetta McGee (The Eiger Sanction), Jane Wyatt (Pitfall), Robin Mattson (Return to Macon County), M. Emmet Walsh (Blood Simple) and NFL legends Bubba Smith (Police Academy) and Dick Butkus (TV’s Blue Thunder).

    COMING MARCH 17TH!

    THE RUNNER STUMBLES (1979)
    • NEW Audio Commentary by Film Historian and Critic Peter Tonguette
    • Optional English Subtitles

From Stanley Kramer, the acclaimed director of Not as a Stranger, On the Beach, Inherit the Wind, Judgment at Nuremberg, Ship of Fools, The Defiant Ones and It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, comes The Runner Stumbles, the final film in the legendary filmmaker’s career. Television and screen legend Dick Van Dyke (Mary Poppins, The Dick Van Dyke Show) stars in this moving and powerful drama about a priest accused of murdering the nun with whom he had fallen in love. Inspired by a real-life murder case, the story focuses on Father Rivard (Van Dyke), a priest banished to a dreary, poverty-stricken coal mining town for his radical views. His life is suddenly changed by the arrival of Sister Rita (Kathleen Quinlan, Warning Signs, Breakdown), a vivacious young nun who immediately sets the town talking with her open, unorthodox behavior. But soon talk turns to vicious gossip and tragedy as the self-righteous townsfolk come to believe the love between the nun and the priest is more than just spiritual. Maureen Stapleton (Reds), Beau Bridges (The Landlord), Ray Bolger (The Wizard of Oz) and Tammy Grimes (Play It as It Lays) co-star in this compelling, intelligent and ambitious film that expertly builds to its surprising ending.

Any chance of some Universal titles from the 60s being put out: I'd Rather Be Rich, Fluffy, Bus Riley's Back In Town, A Man Could Get Killed, Love And Kisses, Wild Wild Winter, The Lively Set, Tammy & The Millionaire? Thank you.

Thanks for Superdome. Anytime we can get a release of one of these fun 70s TV movies is a good thing. Please keep them coming.

As a New Orleans resident I am looking forward to Superdome. Has a good cast and of course a 70’s script.

I'd love to see KINO do a deal with FOX (Disney) and UNIVERSAL again. Titles I'd love to see are Skippy, Ruggles of Red Gap, The Pied Piper, The Turning Point and State Fair.
