SERGIO LEONE WESTERNS
Five Restored Spaghetti Westerns From The Man Who Created The Genre! This collection includes all five westerns directed by the great Sergio Leone.

A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS (1964) starring Clint Eastwood as ‘The Man with No Name’ with Marianne Koch, Gian Maria Volontè and Mario Brega

FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE (1965) Clint Eastwood returns as 'The Man with No Name' and this time he's joined by Lee Van Cleef 'The Man in Black', Gian Maria Volontè, Mario Brega and Luigi Pistilli

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY (1966) was Leone’s first masterpiece and the final film in ‘The Man with No Name’ trilogy, starring Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, Eli Wallach, Aldo Giuffrè, Al Mulock, Mario Brega and Luigi Pistilli

ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST (1968) is considered by most to be Leone's second masterpiece and at the time, his most ambitious film. A FISTFUL OF DYNAMITE aka DUCK, YOU SUCKER (1971) was the maestro’s final epic western starring Rod Steiger, James Coburn and Romolo Valli.

All five films in this collection feature classic scores by legendary composer, Ennio Morricone (Navajo Joe, Death Rides a Horse, The Sicilian Clan, The Hateful Eight) and are Loaded with Special Features.

When I first saw Pray for the Wildcats as an ABC Movie of the Week, I was flabbergasted by Andy Griffith playing someone so cutthroat and calculating (I hadn't seen A Face in the Crowd yet, so this performance was a revelation that he could play something other than a friendly, jovial good ol' boy.) It's nice that he took a few chances in his career to play something dark and menacing.

Presumably the art work for MAN IN THE SHADOW will be corrected before release, as it now reads MAN IN THE SHADOWS. Buyers just looking at the art work should also note the publicity blurb that states that the film is not a period western, but is set in the current day (at least the current day of 1957).

From Guy Hamilton, the acclaimed director of The Devil’s Disciple, Goldfinger, Funeral in Berlin, Live and Let Die and Evil Under the Sun, and Alistair MacLean, the legendary writer of The Secret Ways, The Satan Bug, Ice Station Zebra, Where Eagles Dare and When Eight Bells Toll, comes this action-packed sequel to the classic WWII adventure The Guns of Navarone. Screen legends Robert Shaw (The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Jaws) and Harrison Ford (The Fugitive, Witness) star as fearless commandos on a deadly mission in the darkest days of World War II. Hitler’s armies are storming through Europe, annihilating all opposition in their path, but U.S. Colonel Barnsby (Ford) plots to strike a crippling blow to the brutal Nazi forces. To succeed, he’ll need the help of the most skilled and lethal soldiers in the world: the squad led by Captain Mallory (Shaw) and explosives specialist Corporal Miller (Edward Fox, The Day of the Jackal), fresh from its triumphant mission at Navarone. Carl Weathers (Rocky), Barbara Bach (The Spy Who Loved Me), Franco Nero (The Mercenary), Richard Kiel (Moonraker) and Alan Badel (Arabesque) co-star in this large-scale action saga with remarkable special effects and stunts. ‘The Home of the Bleeding Heart for Orphans’ is more like a prison than a home for orphans. Run by the tyrannical Sister Serena (Anne De Salvo, Arthur, Taking Care of Business) and her eccentric assistant Mr. Kurtz (Murphy Dunne, The Blues Brothers, Blues Brothers 2000), it doesn’t take the inmates long to hatch an escape plan. With a scheme in mind, the kids begin to wreak havoc in the orphanage until one of them is “selected” to join the bizarre Fitzpatrick family. The escape plans quickly turns into a rescue mission, as the friends set off in search of their lost “brother”. On the run from Sister Serena, Mr. Kurtz, the police and the Fitzpatricks, the kids make a break for freedom in this off-the-wall comedy from the creator of Shogun Assassin, Robert Houston (Trust Me). Karen Black (The Pyx, Trilogy of Terror), Martin Mull (Clue, Mr. Mom) and Kimmy Robertson (Twin Peaks, The Last American Virgin) co-star as members of the Fitzpatrick family with Pamela Adlon (Grease 2, Louie) and Edy Williams (Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Bad Girls from Mars).

I see this lists the European Cut running time. Will both cuts be included, or just the European?

COMING MARCH 17TH!

A PURE FORMALITY (1994) in French w/ English Subtitles
• NEW Audio Commentary by Entertainment Journalist and Author Bryan Reesman
• Dual-Layered BD50 Disc
• Trailers

Color 111 Minutes 2.35:1 Rated PG-13
From Giuseppe Tornatore, the acclaimed director of Cinema Paradiso, The Legend of 1900, The Best Offer and Malena, comes this dark and mysterious thriller with top-notch performances by Gérard Depardieu (Buffet Froid, Green Card) and Roman Polanski (The Fearless Vampire Killers, A Generation). Onoff (Depardieu) is a famed author who hasn’t published anything in years and has become a recluse. One rainy night, he is picked up by the police, who find him running across the French countryside in the rain, breathless, without any identification and apparently suffering from short-term memory loss. A murder has been committed in the nearby woods, and suspecting Onoff’s involvement, the authorities detain him at a dark, leaky command post to await the arrival of the Inspector (Polanski), who’s ironically a fan of Onoff’s work. Through painstaking interrogatory dialectic, the Inspector delves into Onoff’s mind, and brings the writer to a new and unexpected realization. Music by legendary maestro Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Sicilian Clan).

Kino Insider - Any plans to release Robert Aldrich's WW2 film Attack! (1956) now that Shout Factory's license has finally expired? They only released it on DVD so it would be nice to finally get this great film on Blu-ray.

Any ideas when the next round of moratorium titles will be announced? I believe it was said that the list would be regularly added to.
