I am not familiar with Murder He Says but on the strength of the trailer I will be purchasing; it looks to be fun.

A very funny film in my opinion. I'll definitely be buying this BD release.

Great movie! I’m looking forward to this release as much as anything else coming from Kino in the coming months.

Gary “now we just need another Kino deal with Republic so we can have more Roy Rogers films on blu” O.

Pardon me for being pedantic, but wouldn't Republic titles be covered by the Paramount deal?

I believe so. Was just focusing on Republic because of all those restorations that were done recently.

Gary “long live the King of the Cowboys” O. :)

I also would love to see more Roy Rogers, but unfortunately I don't think it is going to happen with what KL said back in August when asked about it.

This is a real shame. Those films are fun, and they looked the best I have ever seen. It seems to me that America needs to re-discover Roy Rogers!

It's too bad. I picked up two of the Rogers releases, Trigger, Jr. and Sunset in the West. My 8 year old is obsessed with horses so she loved these.

I also would like to see more Republic Roy Rogers films released. I wonder if they would have sold better if Kino could have gotten the 2 releases into the Wal-Mart stores. It always seems like westerns sell very well at Wal-Mart.

It really IS fun and I don't think you'll be disappointed. The title comes from a comic song by Frank Loesser that Betty Hutton had a big hit with and audiences of the time would have recognized before going in:

imdb trivia section claims that the movie was originally planned for Bob Hope & Paulette Goddard after NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH but I haven't heard that anywhere else.

Glad to see so many others that want to see more Roy Rogers on blu. A truly wonderful series of westerns from the King of the Cowboys.

Gary “I thought for sure Kino would give us Trail of Robin Hood when they had the deal releasing Republic films - I believe that one was cleaned up and ready to go” O.

I picked up Trigger, Jr. as a complete blind buy a while ago and was surprised by how fun of a movie it was. The Trucolor restoration looks incredible, too.

Just wanted to also point out that in between Kino's sales, their regular pricing is quite reasonable direct off their site. Usually a few dollars lower than Amazon and their shipping speed is incredible (usually 2-3 days within ordering with just plain free shipping on $50+ orders).

Last week on Jeopardy!, a question involved Roy Rogers and the answer was his wife. No one knew about Dale Evans. One contestant guessed "Annie Oakley".

I remember the yummy Double-R Bar Burgers at his namesake restaurants. When they first opened, the staff was instructed to welcome customers with "Howdy, Pardner".

I guess this forgotten nostalgia shows why the films didn't sell well. A shame.

Let me join the chorus of those wanting more Roy Rogers. I bought the two Kino Rogers blu-rays on sale as complete blind buys. For years, I had avoided the whole B western genre as I thought the films looked hokey, but over the past year I've started watching them regularly and have found out how much fun they are. So I bought the two Rogers discs and had a total blast watching them. I really need to read through the Roy Rogers thread over on the DVD forum to see which ones I should watch next since my cable company seems to have a lot of them available free on demand.
