    Yes, we would be interested.

We've done deals with Disney and Fox, so I don't think it hurts our chances.

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered but is there any chance the Tina Turner biopic "What's Love Got To Do With It?" is part of your Disney deal?

It's not part of our deal.

Someone said STATE FAIR had a recent 4K scan, so if KINO could do another deal with Fox / Disney, I hope this title comes up. I mean, it’s never been released! (At least on disc.)

    Was it released on VHS?

Just wanted to say how impressed I am with KL's shipping speed. I ordered and had my order within three business days on just regular shipping.

Also, I picked up The Half-Breed/The Good Bad Man, Goodbye to Language, La Chinoise, The Mask, Hallelujah the Hills, Je t'aime, je t'aime, and Les Vampires from this sale.

I finally treated myself to Fritz Lang: The Silent Films set. I couldn't pass up the sale price even though I already had the six major films on individual Kino blu-ray or old dvds.

Looking forward to this one. I have the German DVD which is a mediocre transfer not even in its original aspect ratio.

I don't remember ever seeing this movie so I'm looking forward to buying it as a blind buy because I love Widmark as an actor and Phil Karlson has become one of my favorite directors over the years.

The Secret Ways isn't a great film, deviating significantly from the Alistair MacLean book, but it is a memorable cold war artifact with the virtues of location shooting in Vienna and Switzerland. And of course it's got Richard Widmark (who produced the film) and Sonja Ziemann and Senta Berger are gorgeous. The rest of the European cast is a mixed bag, but with some interesting and offbeat types you don't often see, but a few awful actors too. I'm too big on everything early cold war to pass this one up! Especially with a new HD transfer.

Widmark and Karlson clashed over the film's style and eventually Karlson walked off with Widmark left to finish directing the film. It's a decent espionage adventure set during the cold war era with some dull spots. Widmark is the only American in the film. The rest of the cast are German and I found their accents a bit thick at times and difficult to understand. There's a nice score by a young pre-Jaws John Williams (billed as Johnny Williams in the film's credits).

I like Widmark, but I don't remember this one. I keep hoping for a bluray of his tv movie BLACKOUT (1985), one of the creepiest movies my wife and I have ever seen on tv. I have an old bootleg, but my wife refuses to ever watch it again.

I do too. Upgrading to blu from this one is a no-brainer for me. Kudos to KL for another Universal release which is not merely an upgrade of an already-solid DVD.

Great minds think alike, my friend!

Another relatively early Cold War artifact released by Universal is 1957's Girl in the Kremlin. Alas, our friend KL Insider indicated a while back that this rarity is not part of the Universal package with Kino. Whither Girl in the Kremlin..... ?

I also have the German DVD and I'll be upgrading too. A 4K scan of the OCN! Irresistible!

You weren't the only one who pounced on that set for that price; I only had Metropolis out of the titles in the set.
