OH man..I'VE only waited for "Dinosaurus" a couple of DECADES.. Kino has made my day - not easy to do considering this week's news about 2 of my all-time favorite stars (Ms. Day, Mr. Conway).

Hi KL,, since you have Alphaville, I was wondering if you have Godard's Contempt or Masculin Feminin ?

Also thank you for getting 4D Man and Dinosaurus out on Blu ray as those are childhood favorites of mine :)

Contempt is with Lionsgate, they released it on BLU. Masculin Feminin is most likely with Criterion.

The television version of this movie that was in a Universal syndication package had an alternate ending. By any chance will that version also be included?

Will the alternate ending be included as a bonus feature?

Very much looking forward to this one. It's based on the novel Le Retour Des Cendres by Hubert Monteilhet which was the source material for the acclaimed 2014 German film Phoenix (available from Criterion). However, both films are very different. The 1965 film goes the mystery thriller route while the 2014 film is more of a psychological drama about survival. It would make a great double feature to see how the same material is handled so differently.

I saw Return from the Ashes in '65. Frankly, I don't remember anything about it. Phoenix, however, left me gasping. I'll have to revisit Return...

    F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!

    Many thanks!

And, if you're going to continue culling the United Artists catalog, how about SMILE, plus Truffaut's SMALL CHANGE and THE WILD CHILD?

+1. I too saw it when it first came out and I too remember very little of it. I'll be interested to watch it again.

Fantastic news! Excellent thriller with great performances. I have the MGM mod DVD but it was not 16X9. Looking forward to seeing the 2:35 luminous black and white cinematography!

Check again, Ken. My MOD is definitely 16x9 anamorphic.

Trivia: I'm old enough to remember when the film was first announced it had a different cast. Maximilian Schell was the male lead but his leading ladies were different: Gina Lollobrigida and Sue Lyon in the Thulin and Eggar roles.

Wow, that is bizarre! But being MODs rather than pressed, I suppose such inconsistencies are likely to happen.

I ordered it as soon as it was available....maybe that's why it's not anamorphic. TOYS IN THE ATTIC ( please Kino release on Blu Ray) is another non anamorphic title.
