Coming July 23rd on BD!
Two Classics by Mitchell Leisen!
Sold Separately!

Death Takes a Holiday (1934) with optional English Subtitles
• Audio Commentary by Film Historian Kat Ellinger
• Theatrical Trailer

B&W 79 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
From Mitchell Leisen, the legendary director of Easy Living, Midnight and Remember the Night. When the Grim Reaper (Fredric March, Nothing Sacred, Inherit the Wind) pays a visit to a family of wealthy socialites, it turns out that he’s not there on his usual business. Intent on entering the human world for a three-day holiday, Death takes the form of a visiting prince, and assumes all the pleasures and pains that go with flesh and blood existence. Experiencing, for the first time, all that humanity has to offer, he becomes enamored of Grazia (Evelyn Venable, Double Door), a woman both in love with life and infatuated with death. Co-starring Henry Travers (Clarence, the angel of It’s a Wonderful Life) and Gail Patrick (My Man Godfrey), this thrilling and evocative portrayal of death’s lesson and life’s blessing is one of the all-time classics of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Easy Living (1937) with optional English subtitles

B&W 88 Minutes 1.37:1 Not Rated
From Mitchell Leisen, the legendary director of Death Takes a Holiday, Midnight and Remember the Night. Hollywood greats Jean Arthur (A Foreign Affair) and Ray Milland (The Lost Weekend) shine in this screwball comedy written by the great Preston Sturges (Christmas in July). Mary Smith (Arthur) is a poor working girl who literally has a fortune dropped in her lap when a wealthy financier (Edward Arnold, Meet John Doe) tosses a sable coat out a window and it lands on her. Everyone automatically assumes she’s his mistress, and soon her fairytale-like rags-to-riches lifestyle threatens a very real romance with an inept waiter (Milland). Easy Living is a delightful comedy full of misunderstandings and high-society slapsticks.

From Bob Fosse, the legendary director of Cabaret, Lenny, All That Jazz and Star 80. Hollywood royalty Shirley MacLaine (Irma La Douce) gives one of her greatest performances in this spectacular musical based on Neil Simon’s (The Odd Couple) Broadway hit inspired by Federico Fellini’s Nights of Cabiria. Director Fosse broke new cinematic ground with this freewheeling, visually stunning story of a lovelorn New York dance hall hostess, Charity Hope Valentine (MacLaine), who dreams of old-fashioned romance but gives her heart to one undeserving guy after another. MacLaine joins all-star cast members Chita Rivera (Chicago), Sammy Davis Jr. (A Man Called Adam), Ricardo Montalban (Madame X), Ben Vereen (Funny Lady) and Stubby Kaye (Guys and Dolls) in belting out thirteen vibrant Cy Coleman-Dorothy Fields numbers including Big Spender, The Rhythm of Life, There's Gotta Be Something Better Than This and the show-stopping If My Friends Could See Me Now. It’s an unforgettable production of an all-time classic.

Oh, good eye! I didn't catch that one.

Yes that's the one.. thanks for the reply..

Im stoked about Dr. Cyclops getting prepped :)

Also since Queen of Spades was part of your list of all the SC titles, is that one coming this year ? It seems prime for an October release since it's a horror movie :)

Thanks for the info on GRACE QUIGLEY. Although I would love to have seen the deleted footage, it will still be a great to see the legendary Katharine Hepburn towards the end of her career (and sadly, her life). Good acquisition from MGM.

You have had some good acquisitions in the past two weeks with MGM and Universal. Could FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and LEGEND (1985) be ahead for you, or are they not part of your respective deals with the studios? If they are not, then that is OK.

Hello Again (1987) with optional English subtitles
• Audio Commentary by Film Historian and Critic Peter Tonguette
• Trailers

Color 96 Minutes 1.85:1 Rated PG
Housewife Lucy Chadman (Shelley Long, Outrageous Fortune, TV’s Cheers) comes to an untimely end while nibbling on a chicken ball... but says Hello Again when her wacky, mystical sister Zelda (Judith Ivey, Compromising Positions) brings her back from the great beyond. Only one year has passed but oh, how things have changed. Lucy’s miraculous return creates laugh-filled pandemonium with everyone she re-encounters... especially with her upwardly mobile husband (Corbin Bernsen, Disorganized Crime), who now is wed to her “former” best friend (Sela Ward, Steele Justice). Suddenly solo, Lucy must piece together a new life—in a riotous odyssey that bewitches her handsome doctor... bewilders her ex-husband... and bedazzles both press and public alike. Wonderfully directed by acclaimed filmmaker Frank Perry (Ladybug Ladybug, Mommie Dearest) and co-starring Gabriel Byrne (Miller’s Crossing), Austin Pendleton (My Boyfriend’s Back) and Tony Sirico (Paulie ‘Walnuts’ of The Sopranos).

Glad to see another 80's Touchstone comedy. I'm still hoping eventually we could get a couple of the biggest titles from that time that seem to remain M.I.A. on blu-ray: Outrageous Fortune and Ruthless People. These are two of my remaining handful of most-wanted on blu. They're rated "R" so it seems unlikely Disney would want to save them for Disney+
