Same here. Glad I waited. The Carpetbaggers was high on my most wanted list along with Night of the Iguana. Happy days!
I'm very pleased about this. I haven't much time for director Tom Gries but I like the cast a lot - including Quentin Dean, from In The Heat Of The Night - and I'm a great admirer of the work of both David Raksin and Lucien Ballard.Sunday’s Facebook Announcement:
Coming in 2023 on Blu-ray!
Brand New HD Master – From a 4K Scan of the 35mm Original Camera Negative
Will Penny (1968) Starring Charlton Heston, Joan Hackett, Donald Pleasence, Lee Majors, Bruce Dern, Ben Johnson, Slim Pickens, Clifton James, Anthony Zerbe, Roy Jenson, G.D. Spradlin, Quentin Dean, William Schallert, Lydia Clarke, Matt Clark & Luke Askew – Shot by Lucien Ballard (The Wild Bunch) – Music by David Raskin (Jubal) – Written & Directed by Tom Gries (100 Rifles, Breakout, Breakheart Pass, Helter Skelter).

I have that disc but she did good work in other films too: e.g. Mister Moses with Robert Mitchum, a United Artists movie I'd like to have on disc. By the way she (mis-)spelt her name Carroll.Carol Baker‘s other great film, for her, was Harlow , released by Olive years ago.
This may well be Heston's best performance (yes, that includes Ben Hur). Very excited about this announcement.Sunday’s Facebook Announcement:

Looks like 1.85?What aspect ratio?
B&W 100 Minutes 1.85:1 Not Rated
@Bob Furmanek: can you weigh in here?As I understand it, Paramount films released in 1954 prior to the introduction of VistaVision in late November were designed for and released in the 1.66 aspect ratio. Paramount went the 1.85 route only after VV came along. REAR WINDOW, for example, released in September of 1954, is correctly presented in Universal's video release as a 1.66. By that logic, SECRET OF THE INCAS, released in June of 1954, should certainly be 1.66. IMDb lists it as 1.85, despite the fact that 1.85 was not used by Paramount until five months later.
