King Kong 1976 Collectors Edition Set R2! (1 Viewer)

I just picked up a lovley little King Kong 76 DVD set from amazon.fr

It cost 13 Euros approx £8.00 in UK money and about $14.00 in US money.

The intersting thing is the features!

It has an Engish DTS 5.1 Sound Mix aswell as a french and english DD 5.1 track.

I am hoping there will be a proper decent US or UK SE/CE relase of this soon. But for the sake of a few pounds, I thought I would take a chance and try it out.

Should be here in a week or so.

dvdzone2 lists the subs as being forced on this.
to my knowledge its rare to see any French discs that don't have forced subs.

it would be great if Paramount would put out a communsurate edition in R1-if not for the theatrical release of Jacksopns film, then for the video release in spring 06, but the R2 is from Studio Canal and i wonder how much interaction they have (if any) with Paramount).

in the deleted scenes.. for the region 2 version does it have more scenes with jack o'halloran.. he has the first line in the movie and he is also the one that carries jessica lange onto the boat when she comes into the movie on the raft. I have a site on Jack. He played Non in Superman 2. the phantom zone trio.

This movie has always been a guilty pleasure of mine. It gets a lot of bad press but it's not really as wretched as some people make out. Do the extra scenes include any additional Kong footage?

I haven't watched the deleted scenes yet so can't comment on them. I did see that Paramount put out an R3HK disc recently. Don't know the specs on it though.

Forced subs have never been a problem for me.

There have been workarounds for Toshibas and Pioneers posted before. It's a matter of trying to fool your players.
