    Howdy,
I'm running an optical cable from my Panasonic DVD changer to my VR505 receiver. I'm not getting any sound and the LEDs for Dolby Digital input on the receiver aren't on. I made sure the receiver was in auto detect and I made sure the DD and DTS outputs on the player are set to bitstream. Any other ideas would be most appreciated. Thanks Much. Jim

Sounds like you haven't correctly assigned the optical input on your receiver to the DVD player. Do this and you should be up and running.

    Hey neighbor,
have you tried putting the receiver into digital mode? I used to have a Kenwood receiver that didn't auto-detect incoming digital signal at times. Also, you might have a bad optical cable, can you try the coaxial digital audio connection?
