    Hello,

    Here is my setup

    FRONT: Paradigm Monitor 5 v2

    REAR: Paradigm Mini-Monitors

    CENTER: CC-370

    SUB: None for the moment.

    My question is the following:

Do any of these speakers fall in the LARGE category or are they all NORMAL for the speaker size setup question on a Kenwood VR-509 Receiver.?

    Thanks in advance.

    Louis-Philippe

Check the specs on your speakers. If it goes down to 40 to 50 hz then I believe they can be set to large. Remember some receivers will shut down the sub when you set the fronts or center channel to Large.

Do not set any of them to large unless they're honestly rated down to about 25-30hz. Speakers rated at 50hz should still be set to small/normal, since the crossover is not a brick wall and will still be sending significant information to the speakers past the crossover point. In fact, I wouldn't use a speaker that dropped out higher than 55hz.

But if you have no sub, your mains will likely change to large regardless.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was wondering if those 25-40hz specs also apply for the surround speakers?

    Take care,
