Don't know if my Subject describes the problem or not. Probably not.
At the beginning of DVDs (intros, menus, previews, etc.), the audio format switches from 5.1 to DPL and back and forth until the movie starts. When the DVD does this, the receiver seems to "mute" itself for a second or two for the format switch, but in doing this, I sometimes get a gap in the audio signal. Just to be clear, it doesn't do this once the movie starts, just in the switching at the beginning of the DVD. More of an annoyance than anything.
Any ideas on what's happening, how to fix? Thanks!
The DVD player is the Toshiba SD-2109 (if that makes any difference).

The receiver goes into a temporary suspended mode when no sound is being sent to the receiver. So the split second it takes your DVD player to switch tracks causes the problem. I have notcied this too, but it doesn't bother me as I try to get through those previews as fast as possible. But I have yet to notice any audio delays as you mentioned.
