A few years ago I bought a Kenwood 1080VR receiver:

120W X 4 (the two surrounds are 60W each)
Dolby Digital 5.1 (no DTS)

It's a model from 1997.

I'm wondering what I should sell it for. I'm in Canada, so all funds Canadian. It originally sold for $1000. I bought it for 600 (with a warranty) because it was a showroom model that didn't have a manual and remote, and was discontinued. I was then able to get a manual and remote that works fine.

Now I'm wondering if I can get maybe 200 dollars for it.

Thanks,

Jonny K. :)

I too owned that receiver, and it was an awesome receiver for crisp clean stereo and AC3 (5.1 DD) performance. But the lack of DTS, Neo 6 and a host of other features make it less than desireable in the used market unless it's a real bargain. I would expect it to sell for around $65 to $100 US tops.

Ugh. The main reason I'm actually selling it is because I crave DTS. Well thanks for the info.
