Friends,

I picked up this wonderful album today at Tower ($21.99)and have, unfortunately, just listened to the first three tracks in my car, redbook only. It is superb!

I can't wait to listen on the Super Audio super system at home and then report back a review. I think the redbook layer is fairly decent itself.

Next on the list is the Cannonball Adderley in San Francisco album...

:)

$21.99? Ouch! Isn't that the reason why they going of business (high prices)?!

I will order the SACD from acousticsounds.com.

I have the XRCD. The music is great. As much as I love Coltrane's insane experimental marathon playing, I treasure the moments on records where he's more restrained and not necessarily playing all ballads. His respect for other headliners always did that, and the effect was great. Before ever hearing the record, I was skeptical about how Coltrane's fire would jive with Burrell's classic cool, but it only gave me a deeper appreciation for his full range as an artist.

So, yeah, good album :)
