Keith Jackson, best known for being college gridiron PBP man for ABC Sports for more than 50 years, passed on at 89 on Friday. He was known for saying "Whoa, Nellie!!," "Hold the phone!," and "FUM-BLE!"

Here's an obit for him from the Los Angeles Times:

Also, to commemorate, this is Keith on the 1981 World Series between the L.A. Dodgers and the New York Yankees (Game 1 from Yankee Stadium in NYC). This is from a YouTube clip of the opening of the broadcast of the first game.

As I mentioned in the NFL thread, I loved listening to Keith Jackson. As Dana said so well , he was the voice of college football.

The Big Ugglies say RIP, Mr. Jackson.

Thanks for posting that link, Dana. It brought back great memories of listening to Keith Jackson doing Michigan games on ABC. I was so sad when towards the end of his career Jackson only did Pac12 games in order to reduce his traveling. I have that actual 100th UM - OSU game on a DVD-R. I'm going to have to watch it again in honor of Keith Jackson. BTW, Michigan won the game 35-14. GO BLUE!
