Will Keiko make the list of stars who pass away during the year st the Oscars?

What's really sad is that the poor bastard seemed to like people, even after having his life ruined by exploiters.

Keiko, which means "Lucky One" in Japanese, was released from Iceland in July 2002 with hopes that he would return to the wild. But he swam straight for Norway on a 870-mile trek that seemed to be a search for human companionship.

Well that's why I never understood the move to "free" Willy. You can't take a stray dog into a closed environment for 10 years and then kick him out into the wild and expect him to be happy and functional. They should have taken the money and built him his own private aquarium or something. Very sad...

What I don't understand about Free Willy was that they use a captive whale to make a movie about freeing a whale from captivity...weird...
