My current HT has a Denon 2500 driving Kef Q70s as the main speakers. I also have a Kef center speaker from the same timeframe (1994 or so) that I don't recall the number for.

I'm buying a new Denon 3803 to go with my new HDTV monitor. This will show you how little I've paid attention since my initial 1994 purchase - I wasn't originally planning to get a new AVR since I didn't realize how much things had changed in the audio area (the 2500 only has Pro Logic. Laughing is acceptable.)

So, I'm curious if those of you who have kept up with speaker advances think the Q70s are hopelessly outdated as well (that was the phrase used by many to describe my 2500). From a music standpoint, I've really liked the 2500 paired with the Q70s. But, is that only because I haven't listened to anything else in 9 years? Or should these speakers be adequate for the 3803?

FWIW, power and other specs are no problem for the matchup. Would be purely from an enjoyment standpoing.

While I'm at it, I've also got Polk Audio M3's from the same time period for the rear speakers. Adequate, or should I look at replacing them as well.

I have a pair of Q70s as my rears and use 3 Q75s (newer version of the same speaker) and they sound terrific!
Much inprovement over the KEF center speaker.
