KEF launches LS50 ‘Meta’ and ‘Wireless II’ speakers (1 Viewer)

KEF has launched a new LS50 collection, incorporating both the Meta HiFi and Wireless II HiFi speakers, and which have been developed as an evolution from previous products within the popular line. The LS50 Meta is available in four colors (including a Royal Blue Special Edition) for $1,499.99; the LS50 Wireless II is also available in four colors (including a Crimson Red Special Edition) for $2,499.99.
The company says the new speakers feature “revolutionary technology” in the form of a Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT) and has created a synthetic material which has the capacity to absorb 99% of unwanted sound radiating from the rear of the driver. This, in turn, should reduce distortion and mitigate audio distraction, while other traditional approaches only usually allow 60% absorption, according to the UK-based manufacturer.
