What's interesting is the inclusion of "It's the end of the world as we know it." How the hell can people sing that song?

Looks like Harmonix included Science Genius Girl to maintain their relationship with Freezepop (one of the band members is on the dev team, after all).

Sounds like a fantastic list, Morgan.

Yes, "It's the End of the World" is one of the more difficult songs to recite the lyrics to (even if they're displayed in front of you!).

I might pick this up when it drops in price.

I do not see how this game would work. Could someone explain it to me? I have a feeling that it's Amplitude, but you sing instead of press buttons.

Why do they have to include Avril Lavigne in the game?! But at least Disturbed is in there. But, I want more metal! Let's get some Slipknot, Slayer, or Spineshank in there and see if people can do it (screaming too)! :)

Seems a good mix of classic karaoke tunes with newer hits...How can people sing Smooth Criminal?! I can barely tell that song is in English! :)

Looking forward to this game, as I love Amplitude, and singing. :b

Anyone know the release date?

Is there a list of the Japanese version anywhere? Real men karaoke(that's ka-ra-oh-kay not care-ee-okee) in the original Japanese :)(not to mention it'll probably have a better song list)

EDIT-Details from NCS:

Konami announced and started accepting preorders for no less than six versions of Karaoke Revolution overnight... all shipping on September 25 for PS2. Four variants of the game are subtitled "J-Pop Best Collection" from volume 1 to 4 and the other two are labeled "Night Selection 2003" and "Autumn 2003." Pricing per volume is set at Y3980 (NCS ~$39) Still looking for tracklisting

One More Edit- Tracklisting-

2-http://www.jp.playstation.com/php/item/SLPM-62379
3-http://www.jp.playstation.com/php/item/SLPM-62380

"Night Selection 2003"-http://www.jp.playstation.com/php/item/SLPM-62382
Autumn 2003- http://www.jp.playstation.com/php/item/SLPM-62383

All those great Dragon Ash, Glay, Mr Children songs, I'm going to have to get at least 4 of them. Oww my wallet. Oh yeah, I'll probably need a chipped PS2 as well :) Good thing I already have a RCA-USB adapter so I can use my Shure SM-58 :)

What version of Smooth Criminal will be in the game? The Micheal Jackson version or Alien Ant Farm's cover of it? I honestly would rather have AAF's version, but that's just me. :b

Jeff, the only way the song list can be better for the Japanese version is if they include Kemuri, and more heavy metal. ;)

I'm interested in this game now that I've seen the list, but I hope I'm not going to have to sing through Jennifer Love Hewitt before I get to something good.

The only metal that stands a chance of being included would be power ballads by real metal bands like Guns N Roses, Metallica etc, and for the Japanese version X Japan, Luna Sea and such.

99% of people cannot sing metal, and there are quite a few hard rock groups whose songs are included in the J version. The groups you talk about are totally horrific for karaoke, because the songs you want to see in there you yell, not sing, thereby negating the point of the game
