    Hey Guys,

I have a XV-S60BK and I am having problems. After it gets to the second layer on the DVD it starts to "pixel" (large squares form on the screen) and it freezes then jerks forward 20 frames and then freezes again. This tends to occur with the public library's DVDs that have a plastic coating on the top of their DVDs.

Bought a new Terminator 2 DVD and could not play the T2- 3D documentary at all. The same problem described above.

Anyone else having problems like this.

    Richard

    Yeah,
Took it to the service dealer and after a week he gave up. Going to take it to the head office now. [IMG]

    Richard,

I've got the same DVD player and haven't had a problem with it.

I think Eric got it right; must have a defective unit.

Must be a bad player. I've had that same model for over 4 months and have yet to have a problem.

    John & Ron,

Funny they could not play the T2-D3 documentary on other lower end JVC models so I was beginning to believe that it was a software flaw inherent in all JVC players. Well it is at JVC's head office service dept now so it will be interesting to see what happens.

    Cheers!

    Hey guys,
Well the whole deal took 8 weeks to resolve. After much harassment from myself and waiting for the manager to get back from vacation they finally decided to give me a new one. The good news is they no longer carry the 60 so they gave me the XV-S70BK. So far this has worked well. Funny though, for a higher end DVD I'm surprised one still sees the pause when the player goes from the 1st layer of the DVD to the second. I heard with the good ones this does not happen. Anyway no complaints here!

Many players will show the layer pause but it is very slight.

Congratulations on the 'free' upgrade. I have the 70BK as well and I can't get enough of it. Now you're good to go for DVD-A.
